All music courses fulfill the graduation requirement of 10 units of Fine Arts coursework, and fulfill the U.C. and Cal. State U. (P), college prep requirement for Fine Arts coursework. All classes require co-curricular participation: after-school rehearsals, activities and performances are a part of the student’s grade.
Encore (Academic Choir) offers the opportunity for highly motivated and talented singers to explore music materials for small vocal ensembles. Through an eclectic choice of music literature students improve their individual and ensemble vocal techniques, musicianship, and performance skills. Encore performs frequently. Auditions for Encore take place in the Spring for returning students and the beginning of the school year for new and transfer students.
